I Heard Her Call My Name: A Memoir of Transition-Lucy Sante

Author Lucy Sante will discuss her latest work, a memoir that chronicles her determination, after years of self-abnegation, to undergo a life transforming gender transition in her 60's. Sante is author of Nineteen Resevoirs, Low Life, Kill All Your Darlings, The Other Paris, Maybe the People Would Be the Times, and more, and is recipient of multiple awards including a Whiting Writers Award, Award in Literature from American Academy of Arts and Letters, and a Grammy among others. The program also introduces Richard Eagan, artist, actor and activist, who, with partner Philomena Marano recently completed Hysterical Coney Island: How a handful of Brooklyn artists helped save a NYC treasure.
